The U.S. Postal Service’s Board of Governors has authorized the USPS to file an experimental classification for returned merchandise.
The new classification, known as Parcel Return Services, would apply to merchandise a customer is returning to a direct mailer that would pick up those parcels at a designated facility and pay the postage.
The proposed prices for the new service would be tied to a mailer’s work-sharing efforts, according to the USPS.
