BMW FILLS DIRECTOR’S CHAIR FOR “THE HIRE”

BMW of America adds to its short-film series “The Hire” in October with new work from directors John Woo (“Mission Impossible”), Tony Scott (“Spy Game,” “Top Gun”), and indie filmmaker Joe Carnahan. Woodcliff Lake, NJ-based BMW will run the three new films at bmwfilms.com; all will focus on a mysterious driver-for-hire, with starring roles for various BMW makes and models.

“The Hire” scored two Gold Reggies and was named Best Campaign of 2001 by the Promotion Marketing Association, New York City. The project drew 2.1 million visitors (including 15,000 people per day even after BMW stopped promoting it). Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis, developed the idea.
