Major League Baseball has teamed with entertainment retailer Blockbuster to create “gaming buzz” in advance of the 2005 All-Star Game, held in Detroit on July 12.
To drive sales in Blockbuster stores of MLB game titles for X-Box and PlayStation 2 platforms, the two organizations have joined forces to steer fans to Game Rush@BLOCKBUSTER via purchase discounts. There are 450 Game Rush store-in-store boutiques across the country.
Now through July 11, customers will receive at participating Game Rush locations $10 off EA Sports MVP Baseball 2005 or 989 Sports MLB 2006 and $5 off 2K Sports Major League Baseball.
MLB is supporting with in-store POP and advertising in Blockbuster media, including in-store television in Game Rush locations, monthly Bonus Pak mailers and the Games@BLOCKBUSTER e-newsletter.
