Blockbuster Inc. has acquired Movielink, a movie download service, for an undisclosed sum.
This acquisition enables Blockbuster to offer downloadable entertainment content through personal computers, portable devices, television-connected home networks and set-top boxes.
Movielink (www.movielink.com) offers U.S. customers new and classic movies, foreign films and other hard-to-find content drawn from the libraries of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Studios, Warner Bros, Walt Disney Pictures, Miramax, Artisan and others.
