According to online advertising network Chitika, Bing is maintaining its superior ad click-through rates over Yahoo! and Google.
The company recently reported that the CTR of users who visit its network through Bing is 1.74 percent, compared to 1.37 percent for Yahoo! and 0.98 percent for Google.
Ask.com users had a 1.76 percent CTR, while AOL users had a 2.50 percent CTR.
In other words, Bing users exhibit a CTR that is 77 percent higher than Google users.
“Now, it must be mentioned that Bing is still a distant third place in terms of traffic sent – Google dominates with 84% of search traffic, followed by Yahoo! at 7.40%, and Bing holding at 5.75% (AOL and Ask both have just over 1% of search traffic coming into the Chitika network),” wrote Daniel Ruby, research director of Online Insights at Chitika. “ However, all things being considered the same, driving one Bing user (or AOL or Ask user) to your site can be more valuable than driving one Google user.”
Google obviously led the way in terms of ad clicks (1.1 million) and impressions (113.3 million).
Yahoo! was second with 136,506 ad clicks and 10.0 million impressions.
Bing was close behind with 134,536 ad clicks and 7.7 million impressions.
Meanwhile, AOL was fourth with 42,597 ad clicks, but fifth in terms of impressions with 1.7 million.
Ask.com was fifth with 34,437 clicks and fourth in terms of impressions with 2.0 million.
Chitika didn’t specify a timeframe for these figures.
Back in June, the company reported that Bing had a CTR of 1.50 percent, compared to 1.24 percent for Yahoo! and 0.97 percent for Google.
