America Online Latin America Inc. reported a net loss of $29.9 million for the second quarter, a 33% improvement over a net loss of $44.6 million last year.
The online marketer reported revenue of $17.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, down slightly from $18.5 million last year.
For the six months ended June 30, the firm posted a net loss of $61.1 million, an improvement over $102.1 million last year.
Revenue was $34 million, down from $36.7 million in the first half of 2002.
The Fort Lauderdale, FL-based company attributed these results to ongoing weakness in advertising and other area as well as to currency devaluation.
