AmEx Launches Double Points Program

American Express has launched a promotion to give double points for spending at supermarkets and drug stores, as well as at several online stores such as Peapod, Netgrocer and mybasics, from Feb. 1 through April 30.

The promotion is open to cardholders enrolled in the company’s Membership Rewards Program, or who have affinity cards for Delta Airlines, Hilton Hotels, Am Ex’s golf program, the New York Knicks or the New York Rangers.

The double points campaign will be promoted through various media, including in-store, radio and television advertising, billing statement messages and direct mail.

The Membership Rewards Program allows cardmembers to earn one point for every dollar spent on eligible American Express or Optima cards. The points earned may be redeemed for travel, merchandise, sports rewards and gourmet foods.
