Alloy Losses Nearly Double in Quarter

Apparel direct marketer Alloy Inc., New York, reported a net loss of $11.3 million for the quarter ended July 31, down from a net loss of $6.9 million in the same period in 2000.

Revenue for the quarter increased 133% over the 2000 quarter to $28.7 million.

On a pro forma basis, the paper and online cataloger narrowed its net loss to $2.3 million from a net loss of $5.5 million, or 31 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter.
