Alleged Gotti Lieutenant Arrested in Chanes Scam Case

A purported member of the Gambino crime family was arrested last week and charged in a $230 million Internet porn scam.

Salvatore LoCascio, of Naples, FL, the fourth person to be named in the case, was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, according to published reports. Richard Martino, who as a fellow member of the Gambino mob forwarded millions in revenue to LoCascio according to prosecutors, was indicted on March 18.

Also charged in March were veteran direct marketer Norman Chanes, the head of Harvest Advertising; and Richard Chew, former chief executive officer of Crescent Publishing Group.

LoCascio, the son of reputed mobster Frank LoCascio, was arrested in Florida and waived his right to a removal hearing, according to the Naples, FL Daily News.

According to the March indictment, Chanes, Martino and Chew operated adult Web sites based on Crescent Publishing
