Aegis Communications Group Inc. reported that expansion in the healthcare market and the closure of some call centers helped return the company to profitability in first quarter that ended March 31.
The firm reported $29.8 million in total revenues in the first quarter, compared to $15.6 million in the first quarter of 2005. This year’s first quarter revenues for inbound customer service doubled to $24.5 million, up from $12.9 million in the first quarter of 2005.
Most of Aegis’ revenues were generated from three new clients Humana, Pharmacare and NationsHealth and increased business from existing clients such Western Union, Comcast and Bell South.
