Acxiom Corp. reported third-quarter revenue of $347.4 million, up 11 percentage points from $312.4 million a year ago. The Little Rock, AR-based data firm’s net earnings rose from $23.5 million to $27.3 million during the same period. The quarter ended Dec. 31.
Roughly five points of the 11-percentage-point raise was the net effect of acquisitions and divestitures, according to a statement accompanying the company’s earnings.
During the third quarter, Acxiom racked up $263.3 million in service revenue, up from $225.8 million a year ago. Its data revenue slipped from $86.6 million 12 months ago to $84.2 million.
Separately, Acxiom has partnered with Information Resources Inc., a Chicago-based consumer packaged goods information services firm. The partnership brings together Information Resources’ Consumer Network Household Panel with Acxiom’s InfoBase data and Personicx consumer segmentation product. The new offering is being targeted at consumer packaged goods marketers, and is designed to pinpoint households with a high propensity for becoming customers; refine brand positioning messages; identify untapped markets; classify customer segment purchasing by category and brand; and aid in channel choice.
Nearly a dozen consumer package goods retailers have signed up for the new offering, including Food Lion, a 1,200-outlet chain located primarily in the southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
