5 Reasons Why Brands and Marketers Shouldn’t Forget About LinkedIn

LinkedIn logoFacebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and even Google+ are probably social media platforms that brands and their social media managers use every day. LinkedIn, on the other hand, might be the redheaded stepchild of the social media world, thanks to its reputation in the minds of some for being a stodgy place people only turn to when they need a new job.

The truth is, LinkedIn is quite important for brands and is an especially wonderful place if they maintain a consistently active presence there.

According to a survey of 3,025 marketers from Social Media Examiner, 49 percent of marketers pointed to Facebook as their top social media platform, which should come as no surprise. What may raise some eyebrows is that LinkedIn was No. 2 with a 16 percent response. The likes of Twitter (12 percent), YouTube (4 percent) and Google+ (2 percent) trail behind. LinkedIn catches up with Facebook when it comes to B2B marketers, each taking a 29 percent share of the response.
