1-800-FLOWERS.COM has acquired The Popcorn Factory from Wand Partners Inc., a private investment firm.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Popcorn Factory markets premium popcorn and other food gift products–including chocolates and cookies–in decorative gift tins and baskets through its catalog, the Internet and Web site. During calendar year 2001, the firm generated about $30 million in revenue.
Included in the acquisition is a database of more than 1 million customers including a growing list of corporate accounts.
“The Popcorn Factory’s product offering of high quality and proprietary popcorn and confectionery gifts will help us accelerate our already substantial growth in the gourmet food gifts and gift baskets category for both consumer and corporate giving,” Jim McCann, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM CEO, said in a statement.
1-800-FLOWERS is based in Westbury, NY.
