Jay Walker is at it again.
Walker, the founder of Priceline.com and two other inventors from his company Walker Digital, have come up with a way to make a credit card stand out from the hoards of others stuffed into consumer’s wallets.
The three have patented a credit card that, when exposed to changes around it, produces beeps or flashing lights. For example, when a consumer’s wallet is opened, a sensor in the card may react to light, pressure or noise and trigger the reactions, according to The New York Times.
But because the patent is not owned by a financial services company the invention presumably could be licensed to multiple credit, debit, or smart card makers leaving consumers with quite a racket when opening their pocketbooks, the report said.
In addition to Walker, the patent was awarded to Bruce Schneier and Magdalena Mik.
