Verizon to Open $25 Million Call Center

Verizon Wireless plans to invest $25 million to open a new 25,000 square-foot call center in North Charleston, SC by the end of this year. It will create about 1,100 telemarketing jobs.

Financial incentives provided by the county and state governments were a factor in the site selection, according to Jerry Fountain, president of Carolinas and Tennessee region at Verizon Wireless.

The new facility will be equipment with an internal television network for managers to communicate with customer service reps, in addition to an on-site fitness center and cafeteria.
