Twitter is making good on its vow to let its users download all their tweets. To do this, users have to go to the “Settings” page on Twitter.com and click on the “Request your archive” button. If you don’t see that option yet, you’ll likely see it soon. Doing this will trigger an email with a link to a downloadable file of your complete Twitter archive, starting from your very first tweet. This file also includes a chart visualizing your monthly activity on Twitter for every year you’ve been using the social media platform. There are a few ways Twitter users could use this kind of information, including the creation of visualizations, searching for a particular tweet and sharing your archive with others, among other things. Brands can probably use their archives to spark ideas for engaging content too, especially as the end of 2012 approaches. (TechCrunch, Fast Company)
