Tribune Ventures, Chicago, the strategic investment unit of Tribune Co., has invested in SuperMarkets Online Inc., a provider of online promotions and targeted marketing solutions for packaged goods companies. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
SuperMarkets Online is a subsidiary of St. Petersburg, FL-based Catalina Marketing Corp. SuperMarkets Online ValuPage service (http://www.valupage.com) provides secure online coupons, which are accepted at 9,000 grocery retailers nationwide.
