Tony Ponturo Named Chairman at the Leverage Agency

Tony Ponturo, a former top marketer at Anheuser-Busch, has been named chairman at the Leverage Agency, where he has a minority investment.

Leverage Agency, based in New York City, is a brand sports and entertainment company. Ponturo is the CEO of Ponturo Management Group LLC, a consulting, management and investment firm in media, sports and entertainment that he founded in January.

Ponturo worked for 26 years at Anheuser-Busch as vice president of global media, sports and entertainment marketing. He was also president and CEO of Busch Media Group.

Ponturo brings his years of experience to Leverage, where he will work with the agency in sponsorship, brand strategy, and new business exploration with a focus on emerging brands.

“After reviewing the accomplishments of Ben Sturner [CEO at Leverage] and Leverage, I’m impressed by their wide reach of opportunities and their good mix of brand activation properties,” Ponturo said. “We share a vision of where we want to take sports marketing and branded entertainment.”

The Leverage Agency negotiates corporate sports sponsorship and branded entertainment deals, and represents premier sports properties and branded entertainment and integration sales into television shows.
