Terry Wins First DMA International Award

The Direct Marketing Association’s international council has named Walt Terry, senior manager, international new business circulation, National Geographic Society, the recipient of its first annual International Direct Marketer of the Year Award.

The award will be presented at the DMA’s International Day on June 27 at the Harvard Club in New York.

Terry began his career in publishing in 1988. He went on to become business manager for Caribbean Travel and Life Inc, a Washington area startup where he was responsible for all circulation, direct mail, accounting, information systems, and office management. The company published three magazines and a newsletter with only a dozen people on staff.

Currently the senior manager of international new business circulation at National Geographic, he has launched the magazine’s list on the rental market.
