The employment market for advertising and marketing professionals could improve over the next year, according to a new survey.
Forty-four percent of advertising and marketing professionals polled said their firms plan to increase staffing levels over the next 12 months. Of those planning to add to their head count, 47% plan to do so this quarter and 28% during the third quarter, with business development being the specialty most in demand.
When asked which industry would see the greatest demand for creative services in the next 12 months, 23% cited pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, while 22% said within the medical and health care industry.
Eighteen percent of respondents said retail and manufacturing would see the strongest growth over the coming year, while 16% cited business services for expansion.
The survey was conducted on the behalf of The Creative Group, a Menlo Park, CA-based placement service.
