Sharper Image Corp., San Francisco, has promoted Robert Thompson to senior vice president, merchandising. His new duties will include assuming responsibility for the company’s merchandising operations and executing the company’s merchandising strategy. Thompson was most recently vice president, merchandising planning and allocation.
Shannon King, currently executive vice president, marketing, will be leaving the company to pursue an unrelated Internet opportunity.
