SC Johnson is hitting the road to promote its Scrubbing Bubbles products in Canada with an experiential tour that shows people how its products work in action.
The Scrubbing Bubbles Road Show trailer, complete with a makeshift bathroom, is making 150 stops at Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire stores in the Ontario area through July. Brand reps walk visitors through the room, which features flushing toilets, sinks with running water, a full shower and other amenities to show the products in action.
Kids can visit with Scrubby, the brand’s mascot, or spend time at a coloring station in a pop-up tent next to the trailer. An industrial-sized bubble machine floats endless bubbles to attract attention.
Visitors will also receive a $1 coupon off Scrubbing Bubbles products. Close to 100,000 coupons will be handed out as part of the program. In-store, Bathroom Wipes towelette samples will be distributed and customers can receive sales assistance in the home cleaning section of the store to learn more about the products.
“SC Johnson came to use to wake up the sleepy home cleaning category,” Steve Medcalf, account director for Launch, a division of Consumer Impact Marketing (CIM), the agency that developed the campaign, said. “So, we wanted to demonstrate the products in an experiential way.”
The tour is part of SC Johnson’s introduction of the Scrubbing Bubbles brand, which debuted in Canada this year, Medcalf said. Teams are primarily promoting Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner and Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber, though the core line features 10 bathroom cleaning products.
SC Johnson is already seeing results. Since the campaign’s launch in April, the company has reported double-digit growth on select product sales since the program began, Medcalf said.
