141 Worldwide has named veteran Rick Roth as CEO, overseeing its 80-plus offices worldwide. He is the first CEO for the agency since WPP Group bought 141 in 2003.

141’s five regional directors will report to Roth, including North America Presidents Jay Farrell and Rich Newman.
Roth, who had been Ogilvy & Mather’s worldwide managing director, is credited with turning around Ogilvy’s ailing Los Angeles office. He has led global work for clients including Kraft Foods, Mattel and SAB Miller in his 23 years at Ogilvy. WWP merged 141 under Ogilvy last year.
Roth’s familiarity with Ogilvy clients and culture could help steer business to 141 and bring 141 more closely into the Ogilvy fold.
“This shows that Ogilvy is committed to 141 as a resource in their 360-degree marketing model,” said Farrell. Roth “could have done a lot of different things at Ogilvy, and he chose this job.”
141’s regional directors wanted an Ogilvy veteran who could open doors at Ogilvy. “We wanted someone who understands below-the-line. The fact that he understands the Ogilvy world makes it even better,” Farrell says. “Ogilvy has tools that below-the-line agencies haven’t had access to. Rick will help us tap those.”
“The 141 network is a perfect complement to Ogilvy’s 360 Degree Brand Stewardship business philosophy,” Roth said in a statement. “141 offers one of our most exciting growth opportunities.”
