Reader’s Digest and First USA to Offer Co-Branded Credit Card

The Reader’s Digest Association, Inc., Pleasantville, NY, has signed a co-branded credit card agreement with First USA, under which Reader’s Digest-branded credit cards will be marketed to Reader’s Digest customers. First USA will make a series of offers to the Reader’s Digest database of 50 million names.

“First USA’s market penetration, broad reach and direct marketing skills are excellent complements to our own marketing skills and database, particularly given our strength among consumers 50+ with disposable income and the range of interests that encourages them to obtain and use consumer credit vehicles,” said Reader’s Digest chairman and CEO Thomas O. Ryder in a statement.

David Webster, a spokesperson for First USA, said that additional details regarding the marketing plan had not been solidified at this time.
