Raymond to Steer Reader’s Digest Acquisitions Strategy

The Reader’s Digest Association Inc., Pleasantville, NY, has appointed Robert J. Raymond as vice president for strategic acquisitions and alliances, a newly created position. Raymond, 42, who joined Reader’s Digest in 1993, has served since 1994 as vice president and general manager for U.S. Music, Video and Special Channels.

Raymond’s primary responsibility will be for investments and acquisitions related to the Internet and in business areas other than those-such as magazines, books and home entertainment-in which the company already has operations. His responsibilities will also include developing and applying standards at the corporate level for all of the company’s acquisitions, Reader’s Digest said.
