Groupon isn’t the only daily-deals site getting a new CEO. Plum District, the daily-deals site for moms, is going through its own changing of the guard, as founder and now-former CEO Megan Gardner leaves and new CEO Susan Kim takes over. Kim was originally pegged to be an interim CEO for Plum District while Gardner was on maternity leave, but now the switch is permanent.
Jordan Crook at TechCrunch notes that Plum District had a round of layoffs back in mid-August. She also notes that while Andrew Mason had a 54 percent approval rating from his employees on Glassdoor, Gardner only had a 4 percent approval rating.
Zulily, a deals site for moms, appears to be faring better. It had a strong finish to 2012 and just launched its first national TV campaign.
