The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing has chosen Philip R. May as the 26th annual Charles S. Downs Chicago Direct Marketer of the Year. May is senior vice chairman of Cramer-Krasselt, the fourth-largest independent marketing and communications agency in the U.S.
May joined Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt in 1982 and helped build an integrated direct marketing division for, with annual revenues of more than $500 million.
May, a past president of CADM and the CADM Educational Foundation, will receive the award at a luncheon on March 29, the second of the two-day 52nd annual Chicago DM Days & Expo.
The Downs Award is named in honor of Charles S. Downs, the late advertising director of Abbott Laboratories, who was a founder of CADM and served as its first president, in 1955-56.
