Phat Fashions Taps Sullivan for VP of Marketing Post

Phat Fashions, a division of the Kellwood Co., has named Kate Sullivan as vice president of marketing and public relations.

In her new role, Sullivan will work with key executives to oversee the lifestyle management of the brands Baby Phat, KLS, Phat Premium and Phat Classic. She will also be in charge of developing fashion show strategies and associated PR and marketing initiatives, the company said.

Previously, Sullivan was director of marketing and brand management at Diane Von Furstenberg Studio, LLP. There, she oversaw all branding and marketing activities for the fashion designer and executed communication strategies. Before that, she vice president of global sales and marketing with Diane Von Furstenberg Beauty/Inter Parfums USA, LLC, where she worked as a liaison between cosmetic/fragrance licensee and fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg to develop sales strategy for a new luxury cosmetic brand. She also held key positions at Nars Cosmetics, Inc. / Shiseido, Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, and Revlon, Inc.

Sullivan, who is based in New York, will report to Kimora Lee Simmons, president of Baby Phat and Phat Fashions creative director.
