Lagardere Group, parent company of Grolier Publishing, Danbury CT, has indicated that it is considering putting Grolier up for sale.
In an interview with DIRECT Newsline, Brian Beckwith, president and COO of Grolier, said news of the possible sale came as Paris-based Lagardere conducted an assessment of its assets as part of an annual review process.
No further details were available at deadline and no date for a decision has been set.
Grolier, established as The Grolier Society in 1895, is a direct marketer and publisher books, encyclopedias, children’s books and other print and online material. The company employs 2000 employees worldwide.
