Be Free, Inc., a Marlborough, MA, provider of Internet marketing services, agreed to purchase TriVida Corp. for up to $185.9 million in stock. Culver City, CA-based TriVida’s technology tracks online consumer preferences and purchases. Be Free helps online merchants track the performance of their promotions on other Web sites, and receives a portion of transactions that result in a sale. Be Free will add TriVida’s 100 customers to its client portfolio, which includes America Online, Alta Vista, and Forrester Research.
