HASBRO, INC. AND KELLOGG CO.:

have reached a settlement regarding Hasbro’s MEMORY trademark. As part of the settlement, for an undisclosed license fee, Hasbro has licensed use of its MEMORY trademark to Kellogg for use in Kellogg’s Finding Nemo MEMORY game promotion.

HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA: has named Brian Miller VP-marketing. He will oversee all marketing and advertising operations for Hyundai in the U.S. Most recently, he was the director of marketing for Continental Automotive Systems. Prior to that he spent many years working for the Ford Motor Co.

LOEWS CINEPLEX ENTERTAINMENT: has promoted John McCauley to senior VP-marketing. The former VP-marketing will report directly to Loews President Michael Norris and will oversee all of the New York City-based chain’s marketing efforts. McCauley, a PROMO 2002 Marketer of the Year, joined Loews in May 2001.

LICENSING 2003 INTERNATIONAL: drew 20,210 attendees, up 7.5% from last year. This show marked the first time attendance has reached more than 20,000. Mark your calendars, LICENSING 2004 International will be held June 8-10, 2004 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

DREYER’S GRAND ICE CREAM INC. AND NESTLÉ S.A.: have extended from June 16 to June 30 the date after which either party could terminate the planned merger between Dreyer’s and Nestlé’s US frozen dessert business. The extension provides additional time to obtain clearance from the Federal Trade Commission in connection with the transaction.
