locations in Southern California will offer customer incentives when Michael Waltrip has a top 10 finish in any NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race this season. Domino’s Pizza is the official pizza of NASCAR and an associate sponsor of Michael Waltrip’s #15 NAPA Chevrolet.
CASEY MEARS’: No. 41 Dodge will painted in the green and white of sponsorship partner Fujifilm for this weekend’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Samsung/Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Mears also piloted the Fujifilm Blimp above the speedway yesterday.
THE PROMOTION MARKETING ASSOCIATION: has established The Certified Promotion Marketing Professional (CPMP) program to recognize individuals in the promotion and integrated marketing industries who have met certain criteria in training and work experience and who demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of related marketing disciplines.
REEBOK: is a sponsor of Nickelodeon’s 17th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards and will have presence throughout the show, which airs April 3. The footwear distributor will also host an interactive ad with a kid-friendly game component on www.nick.com. Reebok will also be featured in the Distinctive Assets Gift Lounge where presenters, nominees and celebrities receive gifts for participating in the awards show. The after-party will feature a Reebok basketball jump shot game as well as a soccer kick-off station.
COSI: plans to test 10 restaurants this summer and fall at some of the largest Macy’s stores, including locations in Seattle, Atlanta, Miami and Memphis—all new markets for Cosi. If the test works, the chain may expand into 250 Macy’s stores across the country.
MCDONALD’S: is launching McKids, a line of children’s clothing. Products will initially go on sale in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and South Korea, before reaching Europe, Japan and North America next year. The McKids line of products will also include toys, videos, DVDs and books.
ACTIVE MARKETING GROUP: said that seven brands have signed on as sponsors of its five new amateur athlete teams. They are: Degree Antiperspirant, Nokia 5140, Amino Vital, Egg Beaters, Energice Freezer Bars, Road ID and Sof Sole. The La Jolla, CA-based company’s program is in its third year.
ROSEKNOWS, INC.: the manufacturer of Geist, a family strategy board game, is launching a series of tournaments in an attempt to bring teenagers back to board games. The first U.S. Geist tournament will take place at George Mason University in the Washington D.C. area in May. The tournament is open to kids from middle school and up and will award cash prizes to five finalists.
