CANDIE’S, INC.: signed two new license agreements under its Bongo label. The first agreement for junior and plus size tops and sweaters is with One Step Up Apparel Group and the second is with Soho Fashion, Ltd. for women’s and junior’s outerwear. One Step Up will ship product for Spring 2005 and Soho Fashion will launch outerwear for Fall 2005. Bongo tops and outerwear will be distributed at department and specialty stores. With the addition of these two licensees, Bongo has a total of 12 licensees, including jeans wear, footwear, handbags, eyewear, swimwear, watches, cold weather accessories, intimate apparel, kidswear and kids accessories.
ASHWORTH, INC.: is launching two new product lines of Callaway Golf apparel. The Callaway Golf Big Bertha Pique Polo will be exclusive to Callaway Golf and will be available to consumers during the spring season. A national launch is scheduled for Feb. 1 throughout the U.S. and will include a Callaway Golf ball gift-with-purchase as part of its promotion.
FREE DRINKS: are being offered to customers of a pub in Quilmes, Argentina, as part of a promo that ends when the first patron needs to use the toilet. According to published reports, customers entering the pub are given an empty glass that can be refilled as many times as the person wants. But the promotion ends when the first person in the pub uses the toilet. When that happens, a set of red lights goes on, and patrons have to start paying for their drinks.
