WISE FOODS: Kennesaw, GA, launches Wise Choice potato crisps and soy-potato crisps this week with in-store sampling, newspaper ads and coupons via Maddock Douglas, Elmhurst, IL. Wise sells snack foods in 20 Eastern states.
MCI: will extend its sponsorship of the MCI Heritage golf tournament through 2010. The current agreement would have expired in 2006. The PGA Tour event is held annually in Hilton Head, SC.
WENDY’S: has joined with The American Dietetic Association (ADA) to establish an educational program to help consumers make informed choices when eating out. Wendy’s will work with the ADA to produce a variety of educational tools and materials that will be distributed in its restaurants. The QSR plans to use in-store materials and its Web site to encourage people to consult a registered dietician on how to make the right food choices.
CARTOON NETWORK: has announced a new weekday morning franchise of original and acquired television programming targeted at preschool children in spring 2005. The joint venture between Warner Bros. Television Group and Cartoon Network will mark both companies’ first major production foray into the preschool market. Among the first series for the new preschool service is Krypto, which follows the adventures of Superman’s dog.
SIX FLAGS: European Division will now operate under the name StarParks with a re-branding process targeting the entire family. The seven parks of the group are located in four European countries (Germany, France, The Netherlands and Belgium) and the group is the third largest theme park group in Europe. Apart of the re-branding, more than 5 million Euro will be injected into operations, attractions and services of the re-branded parks.
