NORTHWEST AIRLINES: and Miller Brewing Co. have signed a deal for the fourth largest airline in the world to offer Miller Lite beer on its flights throughout the world. The offer will be phased in on all flights over the next several weeks.

UPSHOT: Chicago, promoted Ellen Slauson to executive VP-director of account management overseeing work for Miller Brewing Co. and Tremor. She had been senior VP. Slauson has been with Upshot for nine years.

MCDONALD’S: is launching a new Fruit and Walnut Salad as its new menu item tied into the QSR’s balanced, active lifestyles campaign, “it’s what i eat and what i do…i’m lovin’ it.” The salad will debut in restaurants nationwide in May. To celebrate, McDonald’s hosted a national launch event in New York City on May 4 with guest appearances by Destiny’s Child, Venus and Serena Williams and Oprah Winfrey’s personal trainer fitness guru Bob Greene.

POLO RALPH LAUREN: has promoted Susie McCabe to president, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Stores. The appointment went into effect in April. In her new role, McCabe is responsible for managing all operations of the company’s 144 factory stores, including domestic and international. McCabe replaced Ken Pilot who left the company in February. She reports to Jeff Sherman, president and CEO.
