J. JILL: has appointed Hilary Chasin as senior vice president, chief marketing officer. In her new role, Chasin will oversee all marketing efforts for the women’s clothing brand. She reports to company president Philip Kowalczyk. Chasin previously worked as senior vice president marketing at Ann Taylor Loft where she managed the company’s integrated marketing programs for its retail and direct-to-consumer businesses. Before that, she held positions with dELiA’s and Foot Locker Worldwide.

CBS INTERACTIVE: and Artificial Life, Inc. will launch the first avatar-based mobile game tied to The CW’s America’s Next Top Model. The mobile game lets avatars (or virtual characters) live on consumers cell phones. Cingular and Sprint users in the U.S. can download the content for $5.99 from CWTV.com, Botme.com or by sending a text message to a five-digit number advertised via TV spots on The CW network. The game will soon be available in Hong Kong and other countries.

LG MOBILE PHONES: has signed a deal with musical performer Rihanna to be the spokesperson for the new Chocolate phones. The goal of the deal is to drive sales among the 16- to 24-year-old market. A kick-off event, called The LG Chocolate Party, was held last week in Las Vegas with a performance by the singer.
