The New England Direct Marketing Association has joined the newly-formed affiliate program of the Direct Marketing Association.
The DMA affiliate program replaces the organization’s former regional chapter structure. NEDMA joins 22 other regional and local DM groups, including those in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle and Northern California. NEDMA will retain its independence despite its affiliate status.
“The main benefit, for members in the Boston area, is that we join our voices with a larger community,” NEDMA president Craig Blake said in a release. “As federal legislation related to our industry continues to evolve, marketers across the U.S. need to speak with one voice. As a board, we feel it’s important to be an active participant in federal and state lobbying.
The affiliate program is intended by the DMA to promote greater unity among the U.S. direct marketing community on political lobbying, local and national industry education and collaboration and community-building among DM chapters.
Other benefits for NEDMA members include enhanced education through access to DMA speakers and content and a 50% discount on DMA membership. NEDMA members who win that group’s Creative Excellence Awards will now automatically enter the DMA’s annual Echo Award competitions at Level 2, with Level 1 fees waived.
