More than 12.5 million phone numbers have been submitted to the National Do Not Call Registry, according to the Federal Trade Commission.
Consumers have been primarily signing up via the Web. Online registrations outstripped telephone registrations 88% to 12%. The telephone option is open only to consumers located west of the Mississippi River until July 7.
