For NASCAR fans, having their signature on popular driver Tony Stewart’s car during a race could be the dream of a lifetime.
Burger King is tapping into the legions of racing fans with a new promotion that lets consumers submit their personal signature for a chance to have it placed on the Burger King logo that will appear on the hood of Stewart’s No. 14 car during a race in July.
At the “Sign & Race” promotion Web site participants can zoom in on the logo to see how their signatures would look and can then share the image with friends via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.
After the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 race on July 3, Burger King will auction off the hood from June 28 through July 7 at the Web site. The proceeds will support the company’s Have it Your Way Foundation, which provides philanthropic support to communities around the world.
In August, the sponsorship of Stewart will continue with a four-week, in-restaurant promotion that play’s off Stewart’s nickname “Smoke.” Burger King will highlight the Smoky Cheddar Steakhouse XT Burger.
