MJA Advertising has created a new sponsorship and brand integration division.
The new department, called Velvet Rope, will support the agency clients looking to build their brands by associating with new venues and events.
Marty Sokoler will head the specialty division as executive vice president. His duties include building strategic alliances between MJA clients and brands.
Prior to joining MJA Advertising. Sokoler worked as vice president and general manager of Comcast Spotlight in Los Angeles, the cable company’s advertising division. Before that, he worked as vice president of western sales at Telepictures Domestic Distribution, a Warner Bros. division.
Scott Cooper, MJA Advertising’s executive vice president, will work as president of Velvet Rope. He will continue to manage the advertising side of the agency.
In addition, agency President Michael Cunio will help develop the new sponsorship division and manage MJA Advertising.
MJA Advertising’s clients include Men’s Warehouse, Morongo Casino Resort and Spa, and Smirnoff Ice.
