McCann-Erickson, a New York-based media services company with $13 billion in billings, has rebranded and renamed its media-buying operations, Universal McCann.
By unbundling the media operations from the creative side, as many agencies have done in the past, the Universal McCann will be given more financial responsibility, allowing it to increase its investments in media research. Ira Carlin, previously executive vice president worldwide media director, continues to head the unit as chairman of Universal McCann.
McCann Relationship Marketing, New York, is a subsidiary of McCann-Erickson.
