Lorraine Gallaher, an industry veteran and longtime member of the Promotion Marketing Association’s Coupon Council, died Sept. 16 at her home in Huntersville, NC. She was 50.
She had been the director of marketing at Carolina Manufacturers Services, a subsidiary of Inmar, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC, where she had worked for the last seven years.
“We’re deeply saddened about the passing of Lorraine Gallaher,” PMA President Claire Rosenzweig said yesterday. “Lorraine was our longtime friend and co-chairman of the PMA coupon council, who generously devoted much time and effort to the PMA and her industry. She was a lovely person and a real professional. She will be missed.”
Lorraine was responsible for conceptualizing and running the award-winning CMS Web site CouponInfoNow.com. She was also instrumental in the design and introduction of the CMS Alinea Promotional Management Portal in 2000.
In addition to her participation on the Coupon Council, she was active with the Association of Coupon Professionals, the Joint Industry Coupon Committee, the FSI Council board and the American Marketing Association.
Prior to joining Inmar in 1998, Gallaher held various marketing positions in brand management, new product development and consulting with companies such as The Southland Corp./7-Eleven Stores, Inc. and Anderson Clayton Foods.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Cwikla Kudla; her husband, Rich Gallaher and his sons, Russ and Bill Gallaher; two grandchildren and a brother, Bob Kudla.
A memorial service was held yesterday in North Carolina.
