Hilton Hotels Corp. is giving art students a new easel to showcase their talents. The hotel chain next year plans to kick off a national contest inviting art students to create a mural in New York City on the 43rd Street side of the Hilton Theatre. Bigger than life-size, the mural is expected to fill the entire side of the building.
Olivia Scott, account director national sales and marketing for Clear Channel Entertainment, told spectators during a PROMO Expo session on Creating a Successful Live Branded Entertainment Property that the mural will represent all eight brands under the Hilton family—, Conrad, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites and Hilton Grand Vacations.
The effort is part of Hilton’s goal to boost its brands and tell consumers about its partnership with Clear Channel Entertainment Properties.
The hotel chain is linking travel, leisure and the hospitality industry with performing arts and venue branding. Hilton renamed New York Ford’s Center for the Performing Arts at 213 W 42nd Street the Hilton Theatre in January.
Contest guidelines are still being finalized.
