Lesli Rodgers, CEO of LR Direct Ltd., has taken a position with Vitamin Shoppe.com as vice president customer acquisition and retention. LR Direct Ltd., the company she founded in 1992, will discontinue operations.
Rodgers will report directly to VitaminShoppe.com president and CEO Jeffrey Horowitz.
Rodgers has been a list broker and direct marketing consultant for Vitamin Shoppe Industries for a dozen years. Vitamin Shoppe launched its Web site in April 1998, and spun it off as a public company in October 1999.
In a statement, Rodgers noted the need to either devote all of her time to VitaminShoppe.com, or to cut back her involvement with the company. “And I simply could not longer resist the temptation to stick my nose into their business!
“My only regret is that I could not pursue this opportunity while continuing to run LR Direct.”
According to LR Direct account executive Tracy Haag, LR Direct will officially shut its doors April 28, but will continue operations for “a couple of months following that” to take care of existing obligations.
Before starting LR Direct, Rodgers was a director and acting vice president at American List Counsel, Inc. Rodgers was named List Leader of the Year in 1998 by the Direct Marketing Association, and served as co-chair of the DMA’s List Leaders 1994-1995.
