A lawsuit AOL launched against several computer operators in Florida has been dismissed, according to a wire service report.
The online services provider had charged the computer technicians with helping disseminate spam. According to a published account the suit, which had been filed in the U.S. District Court for Eastern Virginia, was dismissed last Wednesday on the grounds that the Virginia courts did not have jurisdiction over defendants based in Florida.
AOL was not available for immediate comment.
