KODAK CELEBRATES THE YANKEES WITH “DAILY NEWS” SECTION

In its largest circulation-building promotion to date, The New York Daily News is helping the Yankees celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Starting this Sunday and spanning the next 26 weeks, the newspaper will publish an 8-by-10 glossy photo of each Yankees’ World Championship team. Eastman Kodak Co. is producing the photos as the team releases its official collection for the first time. The collectors’ series begins with a black-and-white photo of the 1923 World Championship team and concludes with the 2000 team.

“We do so much with the Yankees and we wanted to give them a unique souvenir,” said Marie DeParis, senior VP-strategic marketing for the Daily News.

Rochester, NY-based Kodak, in turn, will advertise its one-time-use camera and black-and-white film in the newspaper.
