Second-quarter sales for The Sharper Image Corporate jumped 38%, from $57.4 million in 1999 to $79.5 million. Among the chain’s units, the increase in catalog sales, which rose 16% to $15.5 million, lagged that of the chain’s stores, which rose 34% to $53.3 million.
But both were lapped by the company’s Internet division, which saw 150% growth in the second quarter, to $10.6 million from $4.3 million. The company has not yet released income figures for this quarter, which ended July 31.
