Infographic: The Power of Mobile for Online Shopping

Yesmail Interactive created an infographic that offers a rundown of just how big of an impact the mobile movement is having on our world, shopping behaviors in particular.
“After surveying 500 consumers, we learned how drastically mobile has affected consumer shopping patterns, as well as interaction with brands through social media and email promotions,” Yesmail notes.
Among the interesting findings included in the infographic are:
- Mobile accounts for 21 percent of all traffic to e-commerce sites
- 42.9 percent of smartphone or tablet owners shop online at least once a month, while 16.5 percent shop at least once a week
- 41 percent of mobile shoppers made a purchase because of an email promotion they got on their mobile phone
- “Percent off” is the most influential promotion for mobile shoppers, followed by “Free shipping,” “Money off,” “Buy one, get one free,” and “Gift with purchase”
- 59.7 percent of mobile device owners have liked a brand on Facebook, while 15.3 percent have pinned a product on Pinterest and 13.9 percent have followed a brand on Twitter
