Indiana Cracks Down on MO Pharmacy Operation

The Indiana Board of Pharmacy has given a stern warning to a local outfit it believes is illegally running a mail order pharmacy which sells prescription drugs from Canada, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The state watchdog agency targeted Canada Drug Service, which is run by two employees in a storefront at 7004 N. Keystone Ave., Indianapolis.

Store owner Indi Singh said he won’t immediately respond to the board, which regulates pharmacies in the state. He said he still hopes to open two or three more stores in the area.

The warning letter to Canada Drug Service is nearly identical to one sent to Rx Depot, an Oklahoma chain of order centers for Canadian drugs, which opened a store on the Eastside in August.

This was not the first action against Rx Depot.

Last March, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accused mail order pharmacy Rx Depot Inc. of illegally running a storefront operation to import prescription medicines from Canada and selling them here, via mail order and the Internet (Direct Newsline, March 24).
