Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has launched a new digital download music pilot program for guests to enjoy from the comforts of home.
The company has partnered with Audiosuite to create specific music collections for select properties. The program, which kicked off yesterday, features music tunes chosen for Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Grainey Ranch in Arizona and Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Texas.
The chain plans to expand the program to its other properties across North America and the Caribbean through yearend.
The collections, which are available in MP3 format, feature songs that reflect the personality of each property, Hyatt said. Consumers can buy or listen to the songs off the hotel Web sites Scottsdale.Hyatt.com or LostPines.Hyatt.com.
In addition, Hyatt is adding iHome clock radios to its U.S., Canada and Caribbean properties. Each features an iPod docking station and speakers.
“Music evokes different emotions in different people at different times—music can make you feel good, motivate you, help you relax—in short, we want Hyatt’s music to be very purposely woven into the overall guest experience,” said Mark Barrott, founder of Music Styling, a music consultancy and programming company.
Featured artists in the Scottsdale collection includes Bebel Gilberto, Future Loop Foundation and Koop and local Texas artists, blues music, western swing, among others in the Lost Pines collection.
